Productivity Tools for Professionals
Hey Professionals out there,
Today I am going to show you how to effectively use Productivity Tools for yourself and your team.
Many professionals suffer from a disease called “Pretending to work”. No I am not questioning your professionalism but just to pause and think yourself:
- Are you utilizing your time properly on productive activities throughout the day?
- Have you given preference to most urgent tasks first?
- Have you restricted time limit for non-productive activities?
You sit down at the computer, and you swear you’ll be productive. Next thing you know, it’s twelve hours later. You’ve checked your email, updated your Facebook status, browsed the trending topics on Twitter, read your RSS feeds, looked up your favorite band on Wikipedia, vanity googled yourself, cyber-stalked your ex, looked at all your high-school crushes’ Facebook photos, and lost a week’s pay playing online poker.
What you haven’t done is WORK.
I am just giving an example of current situation of young professionals and team members. The non-productive activity can be different for various Age Group.
Recently I have come across a video by Brendon Burchard in which he has described how your Inbox is the agenda of other people from you so to stop checking emails and social feeds continuously throughout the day to stick to your own agenda during the day. Its worth watching and look if you are making any mistake in your schedule.
But how to be productive in daily routine?!
Here is the answer-
This program is a personal analytics service that shows how you spend your time and provides tools to help you be more productive. With so many distractions and possibilities in your digital life, its easy to get scattered. Rescue time helps you understand your daily habits so you can focus and be more productive. You can set goals as well and track the performance on your goals.
I am attaching my one of the latest screenshot of weekly summary report. (the report is available on daily basis as well).
StayFocused (chrome Extension)
StayFocused increases your productivity by limiting the amount of time that you can spend on time-wasting website.
The RescueTime program is for Entire Activity on the computer whereas the StayFocused Extension is for browser activity.
I would recommend start using both and analyse your and your team’s activity. The results can be very surprising and may ask for serious actions to curb the non-productivity.
